[Gnuplot-info] Regarding standard error

Dear all,



Can anyone tell me that when we used to do some function fit on some data point (stored as a 2 column file) through some constants then after several iterations it is giving final value of those constants with standard error like +/- 0.001264 (2.146 %). What does this error mean, it represents which kind of error (is it showing standard deviation) and what does this percentage and +/- error mean?
