[Gnuplot-info] fitting a gaussian

Dear GNU ! 

I have a doubt regarding , fitting a gaussian for a plot 

I have a x,y data, I have plotted it and I want to know the area of the plot ( it is a normal distribution) 
and the full width half maximum of the plot . 

Is it possible to do it in GNU if so kindly  let me know !
