[Gnuplot-info] gnuplot and libgd

gnuplot depends on libgd.  libgd.org has been down for a few
months now, and the libgd library has gotten inadequate love
and attention since Tom Boutell handed it over to Pierre Joye
and the PHP community a few years ago.

libgd is useful for some primitive kinds of graphics that are
difficult to do with gnuplot. For example, I use it to draw
graphic annotations on gnuplot images.  So besides it being a
dependency, it is a useful additional tool for gnuplot users. 
But if it goes away ...

Perhaps there are others here who would like to explore libgd,
and perhaps help maintain it.  Most serious programming is
beyond my skillset, but there may be other ways I can
contribute (documentation, etc).
