JFYI: I was working with Windows XP two days ago and it kept
complaining that ActiveX is not allowed, so all I got was empty help.

This depended somehow on whether I opened chm file or if I used "help
something" from within gnuplot. I think that in the second case I
wasn't able to follow links (most probably due to some internet
explorer permission settings, but I didn't have time to explore into
details).

All I wanted to say is that ActiveX might not be present/enabled
out-of-the-box on windows computers either.
