[Gnuplot-info] Using palette with 2D Plot

Hi,

I want to try to get either a line plot or a histogram plot where the height is defines also the color. Very useful would be to have the palette function. 

Is it possible to do something like 

######################################
plot sin(x)+1 with boxes palette
######################################

I tried that and sometimes obtained a weird coloring and sometimes only black boxes.
