[Gnuplot-info] problem setting the terminal

hi,

using Gnuplot version 4.4 patchlevel 2 last modified Sep 22, 2010 System:
Linux 2.6.18


Problem:
Unable to set terminal to X11, the terminal set always appears as "unknown"

Please guide. Need an urgent help.
