[Gnuplot-info] Back reference to data in interactive terminal

Hey,

I was wondering whether there was any way to get a back reference to the
original data from a scatter plot in an interactive terminal.

In particular, I have a dataset where each entry is identified by a unique
number. Given a scatter plot I would like to be able to make a mapping from
points on the plot to my original data. Using labels does not seem feasible
because I have ~10^5 datapoints.
