Any number divided by zero is not plotted.

for functions:
plot (x<=3.5?x:1/0)

for data:
plot "data" u 1:($1<=3.5?$2:$2/0) w lp
(with "data" file like
1 1
2 2
3 3
3.5 3.5
4 4
5 5
)

Maybe there's a better way...
