[Gnuplot-info] Question on plot commands ...

Dear listmembers,
if I split a plot command across several lines like (just an example)

plot "FILENAME1" using 1:2 w l lw 2,\
"FILENAME2" using 1:2 w l lw 2,\
"FILENAME3" using 1:2 w l lw 2

I cannot put a "#" - comment at the beginning of the line with "FILENAME2". Is 
there any comment char I am not aware of telling gnuplot not only to ignore 
this line but to continue on the next as if the commented line would not even 
exist?

if you really want to see the pictures above - use some font
with constant spacing like courier! :-)
