[Gnuplot-info] Waterfall / Fence Plot from text file

Hi, fairly new to gnuplot, hopefully someone can help me.
I'd like to create a waterfall or fence plot using data stored in a text
file. The data would be stored in this format,

1 2 3 4 5 6

7 8 9 10 11 12

13 14 15 16 17 18

If this were a 2d graph each row would be a separate graph, with the number
equal to the y value and its index in the row equal to the x value.  I'd
like to stick them all in one graph with different depths/offsets.  I have
studied the examples shown here
http://gnuplot.sourceforge.net/demo/surface1.html, but this is a little too
complex/confusing for me and does many extra things I don't require.  If
someone could post a more simplified example or a way to accomplish this I'd
appreciate it.
