Hi! It seems that gnuplot often lets the xtics numbers overlap in my case. I would like to tell gnuplot to not show so many numbers on the x-axis. In my case, 4-5 numbers on the x-axis will suffice. These are large numbers, and not in "scientific notation", i.e. 3.4E5. Is it possible to do this without having to explicitely specify the positions of the tics? I can't find this under xtics in the documentation. I need something that is independent of the particular values and ranges of the x-axis in my plots. Something like: set xtics maxnum 5 I'm hoping to put something like this into my gnuplot "include file" that I run at the top of all my gnuplot scripts. Torquil |
