[Gnuplot-info] millisecond time resolution

Can someone please tell me what is the current status of integrating
millisecond resolution into gnuplot?  I can't seem to find much current
information on this topic, except that as of a year and a half ago, this
feature still didn't work despite being one of the most longstanding
requests.  Suggestions for a workaround to attain millisecond resolution
will also be most appreciated, as any "solutions" have since disappeared
from their original internet homes.
