You shouldn't let that stop you.  CVS is a revision control system, 
after all, not just a means to distribute the latest code to others. 
You can retrieve (or go back to) any past state of the CVS tree or parts 
of it, by specifying the "-D date" option in a cvs checkout or update 
command.
