Another nice feature would be a draggable legend (equally valid for
other interactives).

I would also like to see cross-hairs on svg. That would be a great help
in the absence of coordinate display. This is all going t lead to a
desire for a toolbar like the wxt terminal. That would be attainable by
adding a floating box via js.
