wxt not working in gnuplot 4.2

Gnuplot 4.2 sets wxt terminal by default. However it does not work in my Dell
vostro 1510 with Linux ubuntu 8.04. When I plot something it shows the first
plot in wxt window, but then it is freezed, if I click on it, I see a
message that window does not respond and suggest to force quit. x11 and
other terminals work good.
If you know the reason why wxt does not work, let me know please.
