[Gnuplot-info] how to suppress colorbox's legend and single isoline warning

Hello,

On Gnuplot 4.2, I am plotting some data points in different colors. Let 
the data file be:
########## deleteme.dat ############
0.1417    0.0687          1
0.6740    0.1184          3
0.1555    0.7588          2
0.8975    0.7091          4
####################################

where the last column indicates the color of the points. (The color just 
needs to be different for each different value in the third column. It 
does not really matter what exactly that color is.)

Then the following commands give me the result:
gnuplot> set pm3d
gnuplot> set view map
gnuplot> splot "deleteme.dat" with points palette pt 9
   Warning: Single isoline (scan) is not enough for a pm3d plot.
            Hint: Missing blank lines in the data file? See 'help pm3d'

I have two questions here:

1. The output plot has a legend (if that is what it is called) just 
above (or beside) the colorbox with the string:
"deleteme.dat" followed by three little points. It appears that the 
three points give the three colors in the palette range: lowest, middle 
and highest. How do I suppress this legend? The example above just plots 
a data file. But in reality, I am plotting from a number of data files 
using bash commands to generate the data. So I get the whole command as 
the legend string and it looks quite ugly.

2. What about the warning I get above? How can I get rid of it?
