[Gnuplot-info] Plotting data file while writing to it

Dear all,

I am writing a tabular seperated data file with a program and would like 
to plot that file while writing it.

I experimented with plot "< cat filename" and also with
mknod pipe p

and writing to that file "pipe" so that I can plot in gnuplot with 
something like
plot "< cat pipe"
or
plot "< tail -f pipe",

but without success. Anyone had this problem and solved it?
