I'm looking for similar experiences. In my case I want to plot tabular data, not just functions. I'm currently doing: set xdata time # The x axis data is time set timefmt "%Y-%m-%d" # The dates in the file look like YYYY-MM-DD. Note! gnuplot only does numbers not strings. set format x "%b %d" # On the x-axis, we want tics like Jun 10 #set terminal gif tiny size 850,600 set terminal dumb plot '< ./tickertape_appsbyweek.pl' using 1:2 with linespoints title 'Total applications', "" using 1:3 with linespoints title 'Trial Program' I'm just looking for something a little neater and cleaner, and more easily adapted for different SQL queries.
