I am using Version 4.2 patchlevel 0. I am running it on a solaris 10 sparc machine. When doing plot '-' .... gnuplot reads one character at the time. I understand that is necessary when reading from terminal for readline to work, but when reading from pipe or file it should not be necessary. And I see that if I do % gnuplot file it does it right. If I do % gnuplot <file or % cat file | gnuplot it reads one character at the time. For lots of input that takes a long time. My workaround is to write the output to temporary files and plot those. When doing a gnuplot> plot 'file' matrix using 1:($2+$3/10) gnuplot calls sigaction before and after every evaluation. This causes it to go much slower. My workaround is to do the calculation in my own program and not using the "using". -- Thorbjørn Willoch | Western Geco PDN Phone: +47-6678 8185 Fax: +47-6678 8500 | Schlumberger House,Solbråveien 23 email: wi...@os... | N-1383 Asker, NORWAY smail: WesternGeco, P.B. 234, N-1372 Asker, NORWAY |
