That sounds reasonable.

I don't think the dust has settled yet from adding UTF-8 support.
I doubt many people have used these yet.
Would it be easier if they were renamed to unicode.* ?

unicode_big.map		-> unicode.big_map
unicode_maps.README	-> unicode.README
unicode_small.map	-> unicode.small_map
<doesn't exist yet>	-> unicode.math_map
