Orientation is ok for wxt, svg, pdf as well.
However, this change seems to have messed up the plot layout and estimated space
requirements.  All of the plots are now squished in the horizontal, leaving half
the space on the canvas empty. I suspect there is some other place entirely in the
code that also needs to be changed in parallel to this.
