Building gnuplot 4.2 on Ubuntu 6.06 - Cannot find X

Hi everyone,
I am trying to build gnuplot 4.2 from source on my Ubuntu 6.06 machine. The
problem is that when I run "configure" it does not find the libs to create the X
terminal and. Can someone please tell me what are the correct configuration
values to build gnuplot on Ubuntu with X terminal support?
