We can have this "...=bsd" option set during the "beta" phase of gnuplot 
4.2; if it succeeds, then it will stay default for the final 4.2.

If the interactivity is a problem, then there are two possibilities:
- don't include it
- include it without any mouse&hotkey interactivity so that it can be added
   later from scratch
