I submitted it to patches if anyone is willing to test it.

But most polishing (missing functionality and direct inclusion of
graphs into documents) has to be done outside of gnuplot anyway. The
.trm is almost ready except for some missing functionality (images &
palettes; setting HCHAR/VCHAR according to font size, setting size og
the graphic; much efficiency could be gained by splitting text from
graphics). Processing the files is extremely inefficient in comparison
to other terminals (such as PostScript), but by separating text from
graphics and/or when the new pdfluatex will be out, that will be
improved considerably.
