download problems...

I am unable to access the anonymous cvs download -   The login command
hangs after a 'return' is entered for a password and finally returns
an abort message.   Any ideas?

cvs -d:pserver:ano...@cv...:/cvsroot/gnuplot login

Logging in to :pserver:ano...@cv...:2401/cvsroot/gnuplot

CVS password:

cvs [login aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages if any)
