Hello, Something is escaping to me. I tried: set table "out.asc" plot $DATA u (x=$1):(ampl*d_Lor_D (x-x0, W)+offset) with table unset table But the number of samples is ignored while plot $DATA u 1:2 replot ampl*d_Lor_D (x-x0, W)+offset has the right number of sample How can I fix the issue ? That is because there is no sampling. You have asked it to print
one line of output for each line in $DATA. The first value on that line is
echoed from $DATA, the second value is a function of the first.
while

Here you generate two plots.
The first one has one line for each line in $DATA.
The second one samples a function, where the number of samples
is controlled by "set sample".
There is no intrinsic relationship between the x values in the first plot
and those in the second.

Sorry, for the replot, I do not need the replot. I want to do for example: set table "out.asc" plot [44500:45600] (ampl*d_Lor_D (x-x0, W)+offset) without getting the third column with "i" or plot $DATA u (x=$1):(ampl*d_Lor_D (x-x0, W)+offset) for x taken from x_min to x_max with "samples" values in other words. I want in a file what I can plot with replot ampl*d_Lor_D (x-x0, W)+offset after a fit.
