I need to generate a 3-D plot in which one axis is time to depict a time
sequence of 2-D plots, as in the attached GIF file. It is intended to
demonstrate the superposition of two wave pulses, each propagating
toward and through each other, in a linear medium. The data points are
generated by an external Tcl script and written to a data file. I want
the points along the distance axis to be joined by lines, but I don't
want cross-isolines to be automatically generated that bridge the plots
to the adjacent time sequence. To generate the attached plot I put a
kludge in the Tcl code that slightly varies the number of points in the
distance direction computed at each time point, so as to break up the
automatic cross-isoline generation, but there seems like there should be
a better way. Am I missing some set parameter that will inhibit
cross-isolines, even with the same number of points in each data set?
