[Gnuplot-info] difficulties with error message

Hello

Just wondering if you might be able to help with an error message that
is coming up after typing in the command plot 'filename' using 1:2 with
lines?  The error message is below:-

gnuplot> plot 'cancerb4b3f_p1.out' using 1:2 with lines
gnuplot> XIO:  fatal IO error 131 (Connection reset by peer) on X server
"134.7.14.69:0.0"
      after 2675 requests (2610 known processed) with 0 events
remaining.

I'm not sure what this means and thought you might be able to help.

a few questions:

- assuming you are using x11 as terminal, was the plot displayed properly?
- did you close then plot window by hand?
- or did the plot window appear only for a short moment?

- is the x-server running on the same computer gnuplot is running?
- if not, how did you connect to the other computer (telnet, ssh, ...)?

Something went bad in the communication between the process running 
gnuplot and the one running the X11 window handling (gnuplot_x11). 
Possible reasons include broken X servers, version mixups between 
gnuplot and x11, and genuine communication errors along the X11 
protocol's data path.
