Well, that hint is slightly wrong --- at least one very central aspect
of the axis (how they're actually used by the plot command) is not
controlled by any 'set' command.

It probably would, so we had better avoid doing that. If we find we need
a general overview node describing all settings relevant to individual
axes, that node belongs to a different part of the documentation (i.e. as
a sub-node of 'plotting' or 'introduction', not under
'commands->set/show'.
