Hello
I've just downloaded and installed Gutenprint on a Mac running OS 10.6.8. I haven't a clue how it works or if it will work in this case.
I have a Canon LaserBase MF3110 printer and having just spoken to Canon support been told that this printer never had a mac driver. Would using Gutenprint enable printing and if so, how would I sett it up?

The second issues you raised is easy to answer. Migdration Assitant has *never* worked correctlly. At least Apple's installers don't erase all third party software any more. In any event, even now the Migration Assiostant wipes out thirdd party software receipts. That is why the uninstaller does not work. Every time you insetall software, it leaves a receipt in a hidden directory that lists all the files that were installed. Brother also claims to supply a native Linux driver. It's possible that this would work with the generic PCL5c driver in Gutenprint 5.2.14, but it appears that it's likely a GDI printer using a proprietary language that we don't have a way to support.
