Was the driver supposed to be eliminated?  That was used in the past as part of generating the PPDS I believe.  That file is also missing.

Regardless of the name, the backend was not included.

I can no also confirm, that I cannot generate a PPD/printer through the macos Printer & Scan interface.

I'm sorry that I haven't been able to get to this until now.  A couple of quick observations before I even install to see what's what.  The gutenprint52+usb is not included in the package.  Is that going to be changed to gutenprint53+usb?  That may bring a whole other set of problems.

Additionally, the Mac installer is showing the files /MacOS/lib/gutenprint/5.3  has the files  (leading spaces) config summary, libgutenprint.9.dylib, and the symlink libgutenprint.dylib   The configuration summary is really not a problem.  I looked at it and it is a 'rw' file containing the output of ./configure.  Is libgutenprint.9.dylib correct?  It has been libgutennprint.2.dylib a long time.

The user had this problem with the 5.3 snapshot that Steve just 
uploaded.

As for my VM-based testing, at the time I was working witn unreleased 
backend code so get the kinks worked out.  For source data I used both a 
windows-generated spool file and later one generated by a 5.3 snapshot.  

This was back in the early April timeframe, and all code has since been 
committed.

Is this with 5.2 or the 5.3 snapshot?

I got sent back some screenshots (in German) of what he was talking 
about, but it sounds like you don't need them.

(I know the printer itself works, as he installed a Linux VM on his Mac 
 and I was able to test it out that way...)

5.2.15 was just released, and is the one that should be used -- that
has some important OS X fixes, but I don't believe that that affects
inkjet printers.

I don't know anything about MacOSX, but what version of gutenprint are you
using. 5.2.14 is the one you should be using as far as I am aware.
The printer in question has been supported for a long time now, with no
issues reported.
If you have the supported version of gutenprint installed, perhaps setting
debug in the CUPS GUI will be the next step to see what gives. Unless
someone can point you to a known issue and its resolution.

However, I see it in the list of printers that you support. I am using High
Sierra version 10.13.6. But I can't seem to get my printer to work. It gives a
message that it is "performing another operation." The same message that I got
using the driver that the iOS provides.
Does Gutenprint support High Sierra?

What version of Gutenprint?  What printer?

This paper size is referred to as "Super B" in Gutenprint.  It appears
that A3+ is the same: https://www.papersizes.org/a-paper-sizes.htm

Hello

I would like to patch gutenprint to allow to display only my list of paper format

I found some paper and printer xml files in the <root>/src/xml directory

But I can't see any link that customize the paper size list in the GUI.

Can somebody points to me the relevant files.

My problem is to access to the A3 AND A3+ formats. If I set "custom", the GUI always reset to the A4 size. If I choose the printer 
generic -> PCL LF, I have the A3 but not the A3+ and the custom has disappeared.

I've tried the newest version of Gutenprint *Gutenprint 5.2.15-pre1* but
after I add the printer to the printer setings in MacOS 10.14.5 I can
print, but it just pulls the sheet and says "Daten werden bearbeitet" (data
is being processed), but it actually doesn't start to print.

You you know what's the problem?

I just pushed this, with an error message that I think is impossible
to avoid (and it halts the configure run immediately) and I believe to
be unambiguous.

And I really can’t give complete instructions, as I would need a clean system to retrace setting up a build system for gutenprint.  So I am going to assume anyone attempting a build will be an experienced developer. I will state that in the instructions.

Excellent -- Matt etc., could you test it?

Are your scripts (and any manual processes written up) in the repo?

Once that's done, and the Mac build tested, I'd like to do a 5.3.3
release.

Hello, This is Guan Jeong from Korea University.
I'm trying to make inkjet DNA synthesizer with Rick using P600.
To synthesize, we should be able to print only one color.
But using Epson driver at Window, I couldn't print single color.

It seemed one color ink but It is mixed ink even I calibrate CMYK value
using Photoshop or Corel.

Could you reply to the question posted by Rick?
It would be good for our project.

Are you referring to 5.3, or any changes in 5.2 (there haven't been
any changes to the 5.2 build procedure, and I'm more than happy to
finally retire it!)?
