I'm almost done adding support for the intermediate spool format that the DNP Windows drivers utilize. Still need to get a suitable test rig set up, but I'll get to that later this week. - Solomon -- Solomon Peachy pizza at shaftnet dot org High Springs, FL ^^ (email/xmpp) ^^ Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum videtur. |

Dear Friends I have a Xerox Phaser 5550 and i want to install Mojave and later the new Mac OS Catalina on a Mac Power Book Pro 13 inch with Touch Bar. Can i use gutenberg to print with these new Mac OsX. I do not know if the original Xerox printer driver is 64-Bit compatible. Thank you for your answer. Yours Thomas J. Eschler Thomas J. Do you have any other older Canon printers. I have/use a MP450 and this has been quite good, although also some hangups very occasionally in the past. I can try and see if these options have any effect on the current working state of my MP450. I don't know if this option is available in CUPS (do you use CUPS on Rasberry Pi?) and whether we should include such a workaround/suggestion to users in the gutenprint install/readme files. Worth discussing though. Best regards, Gernot Hassenpflug |

Hello, I have a Canon ip3500 Series and used the driver provided by you awesome people of gutenprint. I'm running this on a Raspeberry Pi as a printer/scanner/pi Hole server. Here's some debug information about how I got the printer driver for Canon ip3500Series to work: I had to set my USB to unidrectional using the following commands: lpadmin -p Canon_ip3500_series -o usb-unidir-default=true lpadmin -p Canon_ip3500_series -o usb-no-reattach-default=true Without those two, my printer would hang halfway on the incomplete jobs and would need a hard reboot. I hope this can be of help for some experimental drivers as it's probably as "feature" with some Canon models. Cheers and thanks for the great software ! -- Vince vin...@gm... <https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail> Virus-free. www.avast.com <https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail> <#DAB4FAD8-2DD7-40BB-A1B8-4E2AA1F9FDF2> |

Hi You are right, the machine is not crashed. It simply waits for something until a time out. The lan connection looks like to be a Q&D adaptor to the USB one not capable to answer to the web admin queries if a job is running. I also confused the left led on the contro panel. It is not a bleutooth (or other) connection for a smartphone. It is the ePrint system. It can not work as the firewall does not allow any connection other than the inside computers. The dump is the hexdump -C ouput without any transformation. I expected the problem is a file wrongly compressed. In fact the notepad windows structure is the same with some metadata. They both contain series of esc-$26- $6b or $6c for the header and esc-$2a the the body. End of the week, I am going to write a small ython utility to dump the hex while formating one line per esc séquence. It will be more easy to compare the good and the bad file and post the text output somewhere Regards |

Hi The CP1700 accepts large format Unfortunately it crashes the printer, I had to unplug and replug. It may not works also for the standard A4 size as in such case, I use my Postscript laser. Hi ! I’m using above driver but I ran in some settings problems. When printing from Apple Photo I can’t set the contrast / brightness etc. The selection is there but I can not select a value from the drop down (values are blurred). Manual input doesn’t work either.. Fine adjustment setting works though. When printing from GIMP 2.1 I can set the contrast etc but I can not expand the page to get the whole page filled… it sticks to the photo format. Am I doing something wrong here ? Can you help me out please. Thank you ! Bob |

Hi Thank you very much Indeed the super-B is the A3+. I assume the reason is printer manufacturors have to implement the legacy sizes for all the continants, The A3+ super-B is an invention to cut out in order to print without margins. Then manufacturors chose a size that contains all theese large legacy format The version I have compiled are 5.3.1, 5.2.14 and 5.2.15, gimp is 2.8, the printer is an HP officejet 7110, it is claim to support (only) PCL3 I tried a print but the super-B is only in the combo box if the printer selected is the generic PCL LF. A couple of quick observations before I even install to see what's what. The gutenprint52+usb is not included in the package. Is that going to be changed to gutenprint53+usb? That may bring a whole other set of problems. >> >> Additionally, the Mac installer is showing the files /MacOS/lib/gutenprint/5.3 has the files (leading spaces) config summary, libgutenprint.9.dylib, and the symlink libgutenprint.dylib The configuration summary is really not a problem. I looked at it and it is a 'rw' file containing the output of ./configure. Is libgutenprint.9.dylib correct?
