Hello Maciej, The G3400 series is supported in gutenprint (any reports or working or problems are welcome). Gutenprint is a printer driver program only. For scanning however, you need to look elsewhere: the SANE project handles scanning, so you should try their mailing list. Best regards, Gernot Hassenpflug |

I just cleaned out most of the dyesub-related tickets, and what's left will probably get nuked too if the bug reporters don't respond to my pings. A while ago I did a mass-closing of old tickets, leaving only things that had been touched from 2010 onwards. It might be time to do this again, perhaps with a >2015 cutoff. Hello Juergen, Thanks for the report. Are you saying that you cannot change options in the CUPS interface on your MacOSX machine? The printer has plenty of options available for inks. It is too bad the standard mode is not working properly, that needs to be looked at. But I am concerned you cannot select anything in CUPS. I will try to find time to install the BJC-1000 driver as a test on my home PC in the next day or two, and check whether I can select options. Please check also your other settings, I presume you have plain media set. If not, please set to plain media, so we can debug that first. Best regards, Gernot Hassenpflug |

HalloExcuse me contacting you for help with my beginner's enquiry, not sure who else to write to, but I've searched both the web and your documentation for Gutenprint and I can't find a way forward (that I can understand). I'm a printmaker/photographer specialising in working with the photographic printing processes of the 1830s-1900s and I frequently need to use inkjet printers (mainly Epson 3800,3880 & 7880) to make digital negatives for my exhibition and commissioned work. I'm well used to relying on the Epson print drivers and QTR software and the output is of a reasonably high standard. However, I've recently found Gutenprint capable of producing negatives of a much superior quality, especially with regard to detail delineation, smoothness of tonal range and absence of "graininess", and I'm excited about this, for me, new development. I'm using the latest Gutenprint software on Mac Catalina. My problem is that I'm not at all familiar with coding - I'm more of a press the right button in the dialogue box person - and I've totally failed at finding a way to include linearisation curves within the Gutenprint driver instruction or even understanding how this could be done. In consequence I'm having to moderate my image using a Photoshop curve before passing the file to the Gutenprint driver and this alteration, of course, does affect the quality of the image file and can lead to unevenness or even mild posterisation of print tonality in the highlight and shadow areas. I'm happy to commission a developer to help me find a way to incorporate linearisations within the printer instructions or, assuming this is likely to be a well known process that only I do not comprehend, simply teach me how to do it. Might you be able to advise me,many thankspeter moseley |

The iP4300 is certainly supported in colour also, although the colours may not be calibrated very well. Please let me know if you can provide more details. Gutenprint does not offer any functionality for supply levels, cleaning, maintenance, etc., which is often a part of the printer driver in the manufacturer's driver. Hello. Thios is just a quick note to say thanks for publishing your driver package for the Mac. I needed to print a 6x4 print to put in an anniversary card for my wife, but my new(ish) printer failed during the COVID-19 lockdown. But I found an ageing Kodak EasyShare printer in a cupboard, with plenty of photo paper and ink sheets. But I couldn't get a MacOS 10.13.x driver for it anywhere.....until I found your Gutenprint package on Sourceforge. And it worked! I couldn't see a way to donate to you to say thanks, so I just made a donation to Unicef on your behalf. Many thanks again. Simon |

Hello and thank you for the drivers that I could downloaded from your site. I do have a macOS Catalina 10.15.4 and I could downloaded the drivers last version for my Canon iP4300. The printer is working but I could not print in colors. For any reason the option of cleaning and testing a print page are not working. Here a picture about the options that are missing. Also the option of Supply Levels is not working. Let me tell you the printer was working excellent before, but I made a mistake deleting some files from my computer in order to make it faster. Maybe I lost a file that helped the canon to print on colors and choose type of quality paper. I will appreciate if you can help me with this issue. Best Regards, Gustavo A. Duarte |

Hi guys Saw this post: https://sourceforge.net/p/gimp-print/mailman/message/36352188/ And found out I am facing same conflict. I have two computers with same Ubuntu, Gutenprint and CUPS versions and both printing with the same Epson L380 printer (not identical printers but the very same one). i. e. I connect printer to computer one, and then I connect printer to computer 2. The output is totally different, with one of the computers printing comes out really good, with the other one, output is really really dark even though am using also same file. In the post above mentioned, I can see user believes dark printing is due to different ink refill, in my case everything is the same except output. I believe problem comes from something else but I can't find it. Do you have any idea where to look? Hello Anton, This printer appears to be a monochrome laser printer, using the UFR II LT printer language. This is not supported in gutenprint, but Canon publishes drivers for linux: https://asia.canon/support/imageCLASS%20LBP6030__%20LBP6030B__%20LBP6030w/model I hope this helps. It is only macos 10.15 Catalina where it will not install. We are still having problems getting the package notarized. Hi Matt, thanks for correcting, I will make a note, did not keep adequate track, and do not want to spread the wrong information. Best regards, Gernot Hassenpflug |

Can you be more specific? Which resolution modes have you tried? Are you using plain media? Does black and white (monochrome) print fine for you? If we are going to debug, it would be best to try the modes for plain media first. For plain media, the following modes can be selected: 600x600 DPI 300x300 DPI HIGH -> untested 300x300 DPI 300x300 DPI DRAFT All of them can print in monochrome, and in colour. It would be good to know how they work, starting from the bottom (draft). > And I don’t find impression page test. Latest gutenprint does not install on MacOSX (actually, no versions install in latest MacOSX at the moment), but this printer has not seen any changes recently, so your gutenprint version is fine. Hello, I cannot print colors with Canon IP 5000, macOS 10.13.6, and driver Gutenprint 5.2.14. The same with 5.2.15 and 5.3.3. Printer nozzles are clean. Have you a great idea for process this problem ? And I don’t find impression page test. With Mac OS 10.14 is it best ? Best regards. Jb |

Hej Solomon, Thanks for your answer, and thank you for your hard work making all these dye-sub printers available on Gutenprint. I’ve got the Mitsubishi CP-M1 and I’m looking into using it with a Raspberry Pi. Right now I’m in quarantine so I don’t have the RPi close to me so I decided to give it a shot on macOS to start with. But after reading your answer I guess I’ll skip macOS and try it on linux as soon as I get the chance. On an other note, It would be wonderful to see support for DNP QW410, if you decide to look into it let me know if there’s anything I could do to help. All the best! /Ruben > On 4 Apr 2020, at 18:58, Solomon Peachy <pi...@sh...> wrote: > > On Sat, Apr 04, 2020 at 11:43:56AM +0200, Ruben Broman wrote: >> I’ve used the Gutenprint 5.3.3 MacOS dmg installer to install >> Gutenprint on MacOS 10.14.6 Mojave.
