*DOSIDLE* is the program most commonly used with virtual machines. However, *MS-DOS 6.x* already includes a power management utility called *POWER*. Nevertheless, *FDAPM*, which is included with *FreeDOS*, is generally the preferred solution because it is more modern and also compatible with *MS-DOS*.
