That sounds like a good idea.  We would need packed executables to be 
distributable under a GNU-friendly license.  For example: if no 
restrictions were placed on packed executables, that would be ideal.

I don't think it's right to ask for a special exception for FreeDOS 
programs packed with aPack.  These days, I'd guess that many of the DOS 
programs likely to be packed with aPack will be FreeDOS programs, or at 
least programs that will be booted on a FreeDOS kernel.  So the 
difficulty becomes in trying to distinguish the intention of an 
exception - if there's an exception for FreeDOS programs, does that mean 
only the programs listed on http://www.freedos.org/freedos/software/ or 
any program where the author intends it to be used on/with FreeDOS or 
any program where the user intents it to be used on/with FreeDOS?  That 
means Joergen needs to make a general change to his aPack license, and 
not a specific change.

Steve: you seem to have worked with Joergen before.  Perhaps you could 
email him, and start a discussion?  If needed, I am willing to be cc'd 
on the discussion, and I'll pitch in where necessary.
