I disagree, based on experience... 8086 is *not* a good architecture, neither fast nor economic or easy to use. It is only relevant for legacy uses. FreeDOS is above all ***DOS*** and it has to be used as such. No other achitecture. If you want modern architecture, look for ARM/Cortex. It you want a flexible OS, look for Linux; it has been *designed* for that. And just a remainder: Dosemu runs only on intel i386. If you want to simulate one CPU running on another, QEMU is the way to go.
