I have problem with my notebook brand new asus. I bought it yesterday with no operating system. There is installed freedos himem64. It seems to me that there is no driver for cd-rom eiter no ide/atapi drives installed. I dont know if there is some bios, because freedos dont allow me to launch anything. Boot cd with win xp doesnt work, cd with bios and flash utility doesnt work.
My ideas what to do runs out. Can someone help me? I'm doing something wrong or something is missing thats for sure. Thanks for advice.

ASUS? Which make / model? What OSes were available to install originally? Can you provide a link to an online ad or review for such a machine?

This bug is an issue with a new ASUS computer and whatever FreeDOS was preinstalled by ASUS.

Since this was not a FreeDOS distro issue - and because no updates since reported in 2011 - I am marking as closed.

If this is still identified as a problem, please re-open the bug or create a new bug.
