Graphical glitches involving free colonist on starting colony

Map:
America (large)

Colonizer: Dutch

Natural disasters slider: ~90%

Steps to confirm:

Start a new game with the America map, with "Natural Disasters" at ~90%.

Hopefully, your first landing place will be a full native coast.

Land, then form a colony.

Then, drag the soldier into each of the hexes - every time the soldier moves to a new hex, the "unit could be better placed elsewhere" dialog box appears, and a duplicate of the unit appears where you moved it from.

It actually happens not only when taking land from natives, but always on the current master: https://sourceforge.net/p/freecol/bugs/3099/
You need to compile by choosing a commit earlier than that I linked to, I guess (if you want to compile from sources and play conveniently).

I can not reproduce this now. I do not doubt it occurred, but I believe the issue was fixed in git.f44c0a3.
Is it still happening for you?

Not that I really play freecol in the last months, but what's the commit hash for the fix? Does sourceforge has some nice trick to push a commit name "... fix SF-3114", and it will understand that the issue is fixed once the branch is merged (or right away if committed to master)?

    I'd be curious to look.:)

The git hash is above in Mikes message. As it was that long ago and you did not write another comment, I assumed you aggreed that it was fixed.
I've just gone through most open bug reports and updated the ones where the tags were inconsistent with the messages contained within.
