Dear Carlos, Bingo! I believe that the problem is this same one... seen I not to have made any alteration and I am using the port standard 3050. Which alteration do I need to do to alter the port of Firebird? How should the record be in the file SERVICES? Thanks! Dear Carlos, The path is correct... I wandered in the moment of typing in this email. For tests, I copied the bank for a remote server where I have only the Firebird 1.5 installed... and accessing the bank in this server worked correctly. However, in the machine where I have IB 7.1 and i FB1.5 turning simultâneamente, it happens him referred problem. Would you have some suggestion? Thanks, []s, Alessandro Ferreira. Uh .... =-O .... you are testing the BDP ;) Sorry i haven't readed the BDP word in the Subject ;) Huuummmm that was working for me ... but the Bdp is under heavy development, in any case will be better for you to grab a copy of the latest CVS sources (I'm now testing it with an NUnit test suite), when you have done the check out of the sources ?? Hello: > I create a new ASP.NET application, I place a SQLconnection1 on a form. Huumm SQLConnection1 ?? If want to use the Firebird provider you will need to add the assembly components to the Delphi 8 toolbox (rigth click on the Toolbox add see if there are an option for add enw components). The FbConnection component has a designer for the Connection string. A sample connection string would be anything like this (Review the help of FbConnection.Connection string for see a complete list of allowed options): string connectionString = "DataSource=localhost;Database=mydatabase.fdb;User=SYSDBA;Password=masterkey"; or string connectionString = "Database=localhost/3050:mydatabase.fdb;User=SYSDBA;Password=masterkey"; -- Best regards Carlos Guzmán Álvarez Vigo-Spain |

With Provider version 1.5 (stable) the only way (or, more precisely, the raccomended way as i have seen) to call a stored procedure via Command is something like this: EXECUTE PROCEDURE DUMMY(<parameters>) It is possibile to use the more simple and direct <PROCEDURENAME> without parameter list invocation? it cause me to write much more redundant code (i have the data adapter construction in a xml file) best regards Dario Cecere - Albion Srl Mobile 32x38xxxxx (ask) - ICQ 11151997 da...@al... Environment is: Windows XP Pro, .NET1.1, Delphi 8 SP 2, Firebird 1.0.3, Firebird .Net Data Provider Version 1.6 Beta 3. How is the connection to FB made? I have read I must create a connection string, but how or what should it look like? I create a new ASP.NET application, I place a SQLconnection1 on a form. There is a ConnectionString property. What exaxtly should be written there? or is it like with ODBC that I must create data source first? Where should SQLconnection and SQLcommands placed? on Form or is there something like was Data Module in earlier Delphi versions? |

Dears, I have Interbase 7.1 and Firebird 1.5 installed in my computer. I use the tool IBExpert Personal to make maintenance in my databases... because in this tool I can choose referring DLL Client that I am working, GDS32 (IB7) or FBCLIENT (FB1.5). I created a database Firebird 1.5, however, when I try to open this database using a FbConnection (1.6 Beta) I receive the error message: Exception Details: FirebirdSql.Data.Firebird.FbException: file D:CadFirebird15\CADFB15.FDB is not a valid database How do I solve this problem? I referenced FirebirdSql.Data.Firebird in my solution. Do I have to do something particular to install these components. Hola Carlos, we've moved one web application from a single PIII machine to a Dual Xeon (4 processors) server. After some days spent on debugging we found out that connecting to the db server always requires 4.5 seconds instead of a few milliseconds required by the PIII machine. Also some random lock-ups have been verified when connection pooling removes unused connection. Disabling it solved the lock-ups but the situation is the same (the application is quite unusable). Other softwares, for example IBExpert, works as expected in both machines. If it can help the number of users is about 120, doing at least 200.000 and more transactions per day. I have access to this server for a few days more, so if you have an idea, or want ot make some tests, let me know. Meanwhile I'll continue investigating.... Thanks. Ciao, Alessandro Petrelli. |
