I don't see this. Maybe it depends on the amount of headlines stored in the listview. I will look through the code if i find something that could cause this. Could you send me your Feedreader xml files? Todays changes: -Changed caption "Directly show headline link" in feed properties window to "Open headline link in new browser". Adjusted translation files. -If the option "Show tree lines" is changed the setting will take now effect immediately. I'm working on a system which will automaticaly zip up the actual files and upload them to a website. Something like a "nightly build". Greetings, Karsten (khoffrath) |

I have added possibility to import file besides url. Also now you can select folder, where you want to put subscribed feeds. Also I compiled last CVS version. It contains my and karstens fixes and new features. You can get exe binary from www.hot.ee/isys/feedreader1.exe Greetings Toomas |

Is it possible to import from a local file? I think this is a think we need. Otherwise the user can't import/export from/to other feedreader software. Since we will import from a local file too my vote for the "caption" goes to "file". Greetings, Karsten |

Ehh... I'm really sorry about this merge problem. I will never do that kind of thing again :) I did not realise problem yesterday. About translation strings : I thing that action "caption" is not that good at the moment. It is "Import OPML document" but maybe it should just be "Import OPML file". Same must be in opml import form. Feeds found in OPML file... Hi all. I merged Toomas and my changes and committed the new version into cvs. The merge took 2 hours. It's a bad idea if two persons make big changes to a form ;) The customization popup menu is working again. Saving and restoring the window position and state is working. Tomorrow i will add the new strings to the translation file. Do we need an icon for the OMPL import action? Regards, Kasten (khoffrath) |

Hi. Another one thats working at the weekend ;) Toomas Toots wrote: > Good late Sunday evening! :) > > I had some time today and developed new and wanted feature : OPML > import. Commited to CVS, too. Nice. Will you write an OPML export, too? I have a bunch of changes which i will submit today, e.g.: -CTRL+TAB navigates from Treeview to Listview, Listview to Webbrowser, Webbrowser to Treeview again. -Windowstate and -position is saved and restored. -Shortcuts should work everywhere, even if the Webbrowser has the focus. -Changed shortcut for deleting feeds to Ctrl+Del, so that Del works in editfields. -Added shortcut Ctrl+F for searching in headlines (F3 still works). ... Greetings, Karsten |

Good late Sunday evening! :) I had some time today and developed new and wanted feature : OPML import. Commited to CVS, too. You can use this function from menu "Actions" > "import OPML document" Url for testing was http://radio.weblogs.com/0107481/gems/mySubscriptions.opml Greetings Toomas |

No problem :) Go to the feedreader application directory, zip the files "headlines.xml" and "subscriptions.xml" and send it to me. You will find the files in this directory (assuming you have a german Windows): C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\%Username%\Anwendungsdaten\FeedReader If you don't see "Anwendungsdaten" you should enable the directory option "Show all files". I didn't get it. I checked the mailinglist on SF yesterday. I got a message that the mailinglist is not archived and i couldn't access the list archiv. Today i can access the archiv but no messages for december are in it. Maybe an admin can look into this? This mail doesn't get throught yesterday, too. Kristjan Jansen wrote: > I'd split the goals into 2 phases: > > #1 Catch up with the competitiors: > > - OPML feelist import/export Nice to have but what is the use of this? To exchange feedlists with other programs? Exists a "standard" for exchanging feedlists? If so do you have a link? Is Feedreader not compatible with RSS2.0? Or can you implement this into Feedreader? > - improve usability I think its usable ;) Where do you want to improve it? As i see it the main improvement at the moment is to localize Feedreader so the user can choose which language he wants to use. The code in cvs can now localize all labels, menuitems, actions, etc. In cvs is a tranlsation template which holds all strings used in the actual state. > - stability, stability, stability For me it is pretty stable. I use it now for over six months and never had a problem (ok, except the mentioned bugs) nor crash. On the other hand i'm not pushing it. Nicole has 300 feeds in her setup so maybe she should talk about stability :) . > > #2 Future features > > - Syndic8 XML-RPC API support (search, feedlists) Don't know this. From the name i would call it something which is just supported by Syndic8. Does it make sense to implement something which is just offered by one website? > - genereric, XML parser-based namespace support (for RSS 1.0 and 2.0 and whatnot) > - support for Atom syndication format I can't comment on this. I know not enough about these things. Do you have a link where i can read up on this? > - blog posting ? Is this not possible with the current code? I read somewhere in the forum that the people are doing this but have problems if they press 'z' which will maximize the EmbeddedWB window. This problem is fixed in cvs. > > The main competitive edge of the Feedreader shold be the "small, light, but does everything you need". > No need to introduce bloat just for questionable features sake. Ok Karsten P.S. Some questions might seem to be offensiv but they are not meant to be :) . . |
