So EqualizerAPO was not working anymore after some driver update. So I removed everything, reinstalled the Realtek HD Audio Drivers and EqualizerAPO. After rebooting, the volume control does not work anymore and is always at 100%. I'm afraid it's damaging my speakers/headphones.

When I uninstall EqualizerAPO, the volume control works fine. If I install APO again, the volume is again back to 100%. What could be wrong ?

    Thanks for your help.

Wow, no one's had a simialr problem ?

I have reinstalled Equalizer APO and the Realtek drivers many times and still the same. After installing APO Equalizer, the volume control does not work anymore. I can mute the sound by bringing the volume down to 0, but anything above 0 is full volume.

Any hints on why this could happen would be great. This is the best Equalizer Software and I use it for all my headsets.

That is pretty strange. Did you try rolling back to an older Realtek driver? I've had problems in the past with new Realtek drivers on my Dell Inspiron 15 laptop. What brand computer do you have?

I tried different versions of the driver and also default Windows drivers. No matter how many times I reinstall, the same problem.

I have a Clevo assembled laptop.

I have the same problem. I am running a Dell 7000 series laptop, RealTek Driver, Windows 10 1803. Volume is 100% or 0, no control other than inside the application, such as Spotify, but the notification will blast your eardrums when they come in. Tried uninstall, reinstall, no different.

I am using EQ-APO to flatten my Sony MDR-V6's, and really need a decent EQ system. Pretty stoked about EQ APO, if the native Windows volume control would work.

    Help, please!

I also had this problem on a Clevo laptop after the new Windows 10 Build update landed.
    What I did.
    - Backup config files elsewhere
    - Uninstalled EAPO, removing all settings, reboot
    - Install EAPO, reboot
    - Put in the configuration file. At this point, the effects works but the volume control is still broken.
    - Reinstall Realtek driver by launching a Realtek driver installer. The new installer automatically remove the old driver -> reboot -> install new one -> reboot.
    - Open the EAPO configurator, enable it for Realtek, reboot

Now it runs fine. Don't know why this works, but doesn't hurt to try.

Thanks a lot! Uninstall Realtek>Reboot (reinstalling Realtek) after APO installation fixes the native volume control problem.

You made my day, and improved my music experience exponentially.
