PSA: Possible Solution for "Checks done. Problems were detected for one device." of a Capture Device in Windows 11: Turn off Audio Enhancements (via Audio Settings) for this specific device.
Not sure if this has been posted. If it has, apologies for the redundancy, but I could not find a thread with this specific solution.
I would like to share a quick solution to something that was driving me absolutely nuts within Windows 11. One of my caputre devices (USB Microphone) was not being installed correctly for unknown reasons but was working well in Win 10 using the latest Equalizer APO version and Peace version.
Problem: Eq APO was giving me the "Checks done. Problems were detected for one device."
Troubleshooting Steps Tried:
1)Tried intalling all three types of installations (SFX/MFX and the other two).
2) I couldn't tick ON the "Install Orginal APO" so that was unticked by default.
3) Tried unticking the device's Exclusive modes and Signal Enhancements
4) Tried past versions of Eq APO (down to 1.2) but same result of not being able to pre amplify the caputre device.
Solution: Right click the Speaker Icon on the bottom right, and click on "Sound Settings". Scroll down to the "Input" Section and click on the device of interest. Scroll down to the Audio Enhancements section and select "Off" from the drop down. Attempt to reinstall the caputre device's APO. This specific setting might change to "Device Default Effects" after intalling the APO, but that might be normal as Eq APO and Peace worked for this device on my end. Attached is a screenshot of the setting that needs to be changed.
I hope this helps some people out there. I know this is probably not the fix-all solution that will help everyone, but here is another step to try that MAY yield a solution.
