Hello, APO is installed and running well with Pace GUI but flash plugin crashes with any browser. I've uninstalled and reinstalled flash, cleaned up registry with ccleaner and only uninstalling APO retrieves normal flash function. System is W7 Home Basic SP1.

My only guess is that this could be caused by DRM.
If you have experience with regedit, could you please go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Audio and change the value DisableProtectedAudioDG to 0. Then restart your computer and see if flash works again.
(This will also make E-APO unable to work, so set the value back to 1 later)

I changed the value on registry and flash came back to function normally but seems that is no possible make it work at the same time with eapo (eg. for watching streaming videos and adjust audio response).

If you have not done that yet, please try the new version 0.9.
After you have installed version 0.9 (and if flash is still crashing), disable all devices in the Configurator and reboot, but leave Equalizer APO installed. See if it still crashes. (To see if some registry setting causes the crash, not E-APO actually running)
Could you please enable trace messages (as described in the Wiki), generate a logfile by running (and crashing) flash and attach it to this thread? Maybe there's some hint in the logfile.

I've installed version 0.9: it worked fine until second reboot, when crashed not only flash but local audio files playback with any player. I've uninstalled and installed again enabling trace messages. At first reboot same issue, both flash plugin and local files playback; after second reboot until now all runing fine, flash working and players. Obs.: allways even with V0.8 at shutdown windows remains waiting the close sound reproduction; only forcing shutdown exits from these state. Now I set the close windows sound to "none" and works fine.
Thank you for all.
Hello, flash issue came back. I disabled output device in Configurator and after reboot the problem was solved. With equalizer APO working flash works very few times and audio playback from local files crashes too.
New log attached.
Please update to Equalizer APO 0.9.1, that should solve your problem. Thank you for providing the log files. They helped me to find the problem (Peace GUI creates an empty config file which leads to an endless loop).

Foobar2000 1.3 doesn't work with 0.9.1, it says "Unrecoverable playback error: The specified module could not be found. (0x8007007E)".
With 0.9.0 it works well.

I'm a user of Foobar2000 myself and have no problems. Please go to the installation directory (probably C:\Program Files\EqualizerAPO) and see if EqualizerAPO.dll is really there.
Did you maybe uninstall version 0.9 and then install version 0.9.1 without restarting in between? Then the uninstaller might have deleted the file at the next reboot after the installation.

Hello, I would like to preface this post by saying that i LOVE E-APO! However,I cannot run it as it continually and constantly breaks flash, it seems to affect something basic in the Adobe architecture as I've even seen it interfere with Adobe reader (it crashes; causing a non-responsive condition). I had version 0.9.1 and peace GUI installed. What is it about how E-APO is implemented that interferes so with Flash?

Interestingly, it is working fine at the moment. Previously, it would cause crashes in FireFox and the aforementioned issue with Reader. I have just re-installed it so that I could enable the trace and went to Adobe.com and tested both Shockwave and Flash - both are now working correctly. Reader was also tested and found to be working correctly. I will keep the trace enabled in the interest of science :D and keep you informed. Thanks for the quick response, I honestly was not expecting that.

Some additional info: removing flash player protect mode by modifying the mms.cfg file has thus far restored functionality, but is obviously not ideal.

Well, that worked for a few hours, but is now crashing again. I have included another log for comparison (It appears to me to be identical, but I attached it just the same).
Could you please try if it works when you set the sample rate of your sound device to 44100 Hz instead of 192000 Hz?
The problem I see in the log is that the flash player opens the audio stream with 44100 Hz. The child APO (seems to be Microsoft Audio Home Theater Effects) requests a stream with 192000 Hz, which means that Windows has to do upsampling. For some unknown reason, this works a few times, but later, it always calls back with the sample rate as before, leading to an endless loop.

Oops..that was an oversight; something I was messing with to see if there were changes. fixed setting and....still breaks. Also, modifying flash to run unprotected also stopped working after a few hours with the same crashes as if it had not been modified. Here's a new log (same as previous, but with added information at the end).
Your log file shows only one entry where the output format is 44100 Hz and that time there were no problems. Did you try that setting for a longer time now? Did you get any crashes again?

Please upload log files if you can (with trace messages enabled). Currently, I have no clue what causes the crashes. Maybe I can read something from the log files.

For most users, E-APO does not cause any problems with Adobe Flash or Reader.
Could you please enable trace messages and attach the log file produced by the crash? (for instructions, see here)

I was glad I found E-APO yesterday but am also suffering from the same issue with flash. Is there any progress on this issue?
I'm having this problem too!
It works fine in one computer but crashes flash plugin in other computer. Same installation procedure, etc.
Please upload log files if you can (with trace messages enabled). Currently, I have no clue what causes the crashes. Maybe I can read something from the log files.
Instructions: click here
I can send you the log but Flash crashed at 19h32 and the last log entry is at 19h18.
