Probably db record interpretation issue.

We have strange problem here. Noone is able to log in. The only exception is the setup, that works fine. That makes us feel, that there is something wrong with database, since setup uses mostly just the configuration files. This is further supported by fact, that after restoring the DB from older backup, problem is resolved. However, we must have digged a week ago into backups to find one, that works. The newer backups can be imported, but make the problem. That makes me set a question: is it possible to merge somehow the lost records (between the last working and the last performed backups) later?

MySQL DB check dosen't show any problem with the DB itself.

The symptoms of the problem are: The login screen is fully displayed, however the page continues to "load" ad infinitum.

When an attempt to log in is made (username and password is given), the logging in (on the login scren) starts, but goes forever.

I have not found any special error reports in the DB, excepting the "Was not able to send Notification to user", that is probably not associated with this problem.

I suspect that some record in the system database is broken, since the sympoms (forever loading of the login page) start even before any username is given.

There is also a server-side manifestation of the problem: Once the user performs an unsuccessfull login attemp, an apache process starts executing with high CPU utilisation, that leads soon to low responsibility with load as high as 30.

First the problem appeared, the Apache restart resolved the problem for 2 days. However, when the problem re-appeared then, no restart was successful in problem removal any longer.

|
