Patrick,
We are using hypersonic in server mode in one of our apps using JDBC
DAOs.
I will try the file mode and see if that works but with mysql it looks
great for now. Thanks!
Any other hermes documentation available (other than dev. and install
guide) will be very useful!
regards,
Ajit

Ajit,
I see what you mean. We have tested hsql previously, but only in the file
mode, not in server mode. So, I am not sure about the cause in your
situation. Are you sure the server can be accessible by a very simple Java
program using JDBC?

Patrick,
I am using: jdbc:hsqldb:hsql://localhost as
jdbc url and running hypersonic in standalone server mode.
and my startdb script is: start java -classpath "./hsqldb.jar"
org.hsqldb.Server -database "msh"
Clearly, from the log, it was trying to open a connection but got hung
in the process.

Dear Chris, If your message has asked for Reliable Messaging (AckRequested), it is truth that the message will be resent automatically by Hermes. I have just tried using the following scenario, and it resent the message: MSH Monitor -> Hermes -> Mail Server I have set the Monitor to use toMshUrl : "mailto:ad...@ma..." (an email address), and then properly set the SMTP setting in the msh.properties.xml for Hermes. After the registration, I try to send out the message with Reliable Messaging checked and note that it must have email address on both from and to party id (something like "mailto:ad...@ma..."), and I can receive several retries on my mail account. See whether the above helps Regards, Bob Koon Christophe Hartwig-Peillon wrote: > Hi all, > > I currently use both SMTP and HTTP transports with Hermes, and I'm > having problems with SMTP. > My understanding is that messages I send should be acknoledged by the > receiver. Dear Ajit,
It seems that the freebxml-dev list is not active. So, we recommend =
you to subscribe to the mailing lists of Hermes at =
http://sourceforge.net/mail/?group_id=3D56612. Those mailing lists are =
for all kinds of discussions on Hermes.
Regarding your question, I guess you are not setting the =
msh_client.properties.xml correctly. Loopback is a Hermes client, which =
will connect to Hermes server for sending out messages and getting =
appropriate incoming messages. Inside msh_client.properties.xml, there =
is a configuration entry that specify the Hermes server that Loopback =
should connect to. So if you setup the Hermes server at =
http://localhost:8080/msh, you should put down this URL in =
msh_client.properties.xml. That msh_client.properties.xml should be =
placed in the CLASSPATH when launching Loopback, or in the current =
working directory in which you launch Loopback.
Hope this helps.

Hi all, I currently use both SMTP and HTTP transports with Hermes, and I'm having problems with SMTP. My understanding is that messages I send should be acknoledged by the receiver. Without acknoledgement, messages should be resent... Am I wrong ? It appears messages are not resent automagically by hermes in my case... Any idea ? Sundar, Please subscribe to the mailing list at http://sourceforge.net/mail/?group_id=56612, those are the mailing lists dedicated for discussion on our msh. I have CC this message there also. For your question, we suspect it's the problem of servlet version. We havn't tested it using Tomcat 3.0.3 (the oldest version we tried is 4.0.x). So, we suggest you can try to patch the servlet.jar of your Tomcat by a newer one, or you can simply to use a more updated version of Tomcat (recommended). Please note that servlet.jar is troubling Tomcat even in later version, please see http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_id=1665549&forum_id=12670 for more information. I am sorry that I cannot find out the cause of the problem, since it is okay for me to send signed message using Monitor. Here is my steps to create keystore: keytool -genkey -keystore test.keystore -alias bob and then use same password for keystore and key. Then the message is sent out successful using Monitor with "bob" as alias. Maybe if you can, please attach more information on how you test it so that I can find out the problem. Tried that but it didn't work. You can try to avoid the capital letter for alias. From my experience it seems that java keystore doesn't work well on alias with Big capital letter. (e.g. using alias "privkey") Regards, Bob Koon Patrick Yee wrote: > > > -------- Original Message -------- > Subject: HOW TO DO DIGITAL SIGNATURE TESTING > Date: Wed, 10 Sep 2003 02:15:49 -0400 > From: Thambi Rajah, Terence <ter...@st...> > To: 'fre...@ce...' <fre...@ce...> > > > > Hi, > > I have a java Keystore created and am trying to use Hermes to > digitally > sign the message.
