Hi, I am looking at Air Warrior 3 and trying to get it to work right in windows 11 - One can do the flying component in it, and the game can run but the menu screens tend to be all black and sometimes there is alot of the game window getting constantly minimised for no reason
If i runt he game in dxwnd though, its just a black screen that i cant seem to get around. Hoping this one can be looked at, because its a great old game.

Hi, I installed the game and just started to be delighted by the game oddities.
And from the same year (1997) there is also the prequel Air Warrior II. I wonder how that one could be even tougher ...

cool - do you just get a black screen? If i use dgvoodoo i find i can get into the game with menu working enough, but i have to run it in software mode, the 3d accelerated dx5 dependent graphics dont seem to work for me

using dgvoodoo if i do use the 3d graphics acceleration - the mission loads and the cockpit display is normal, but the 3d graphics of what i see outsdie the plane, is only visible in the top left corner, eveythign else is just a blue blank square blocking the view

I saw the black screens, but they seem to work pretty well by setting the palette flags and the DIB emulation. In a few cases there was still some suspicious blackness, but nothing that could prevent to play the game.
Instead, I found a game bug when calling ChangeDisplaySettingsA with a bad value for the DEVMODEA structure. The uninitialized value didn't bother the Windows call but crashed the DxWnd wrapper, so I had to fix it trimming a too big value.
My configuration is in attach, but you may need to use the v2.06.11.rc2 release that I'm about to post.
