right well yes i dont know what the go is - i have a geforce RTX card and an intel card and both are up to date -but i think perhaps the issue might be that i just couldnt get the game to use the nvidia card, - windows will default to the intel one for many old games, only be using dgvoodoo or something similar can i then get the nvidia card in the game and with that the issues are fixed
Well my card is just the NVIDIA card and or the Intel card in my Acer nitro 5 laptop - and running windows 11. I think I have things working better since a new windows reinstall but also I don't think the issue of the game running from the temp folder is a graphics card issue either. I know my experience is not entirely unique as someone else on the NASCAR heat core forum had the same issue And another person had this issue with viper racing a game put out earlier by the same company using the same...
i was getting the weird graphics card error message when i tried to just run from a normal installation, so instead i am using the Heat Core version which is preferable also because of all the other AI fixes too. That install doesnt use the CD at all, I could get the game running fine, just the graphics issue i was experiencing, which prob not everyone encounters, but for me the temp dgvoodoo solution fixes everything and using the Heat core version means one can use the many mods for Nascar Hea...
thanks Gho, that works for nascar 2000 now nicely
Okay awesome - game works now!
okay i found the fix that corrects all the textures now - i use dgvoodoo but i put the files in my appdata/local/temp folder, which is certainly quite strange, but if thats what the game wants, okay then
Okay continuing the Nascar theme - i thought i would look at Nascar 2000 now and saw that there is aprofile in Dxwnd for it. I tried it but unfortunately the game is just a black screen, no sound and no way i can move the window around either - if something could be done that makes moving the window around possible then maybe it behaves the same as Nascar Revolution SE
Okay thanks to BEEN referring me to the shared hook functions, i can get Nascar Heat to be recognised in Dxwnd, but now at this stage - what fix in Dxwnd could rectify this look? see attached. The wireframe area is just all around whereever the car moves to. I installed Nascar Heat core which is a free full install online https://heatfinder.net/downloads?c=3 but also i have the cdrom and of course its on my abandonware, so one can get all the tracks from that to use in the heatcore version. The heatcore...
