    Hello there,
Been using DxWnd for ages now, absolutely love it.

I try and run all my games in a borderless fullscreen window because I don't like seeing my monitors flash when changing screen resolutions, changing all my windows' positions. I also multitask, which is easier when running in a borderless fullscreen window.

I've not had much trouble so far, getting games to run this way via DxWnd, with trial and error, but it seems getting Split/Second to run is beyond me. Would any of you have an export for that? If not, any assitance with settings would be greatly appreciated. So far, even hooking into the application (and all other settings off) causes it to crash. I'd try and figure this out myself but I can't figure out what anything in the logs mean lol. I'll upload them if needed. I'd really like someone's help in figuring this out.

    Thanks for your time.

Uhm, I can try using the free demo and hoping that troubles don't come with steam protections.
It may take a while, but stay tuned for news on this thread.

I don´t know. I´ve never had any problem regarding this game.
Here is my export for that game. Should be working without any problem. Atleast it is for me.

In case Kataah's export wouldn't fix your problem, you could help my work by reading the guide here https://sourceforge.net/p/dxwnd/discussion/general/thread/6e4aa579/#01c2 and posting some logs here. If Kataah says he has no problem with the game it is likely that my attempts to run the demo could reveal no problem to be fixed.

Thank you for your replies so far!
Kataah's export doesn't work for me, the game and sometimes, even DxWnd crashes. I've added the logs here as advised.

Do let me know if you need any other information, thanks again!

The log shows that DxWnd loses control of the game after the video device creation, a damned situation that I'd really like to understand better. Probably the crash is caused by having the game set for windowed mode until that operation and then left free to run in native mode.
I'm downloading the free demo, I hope to be able to find some trick ....

Mabye it´s causing the crash because you running it in steam. And there it´s a different exe.
I´m using, well let´s say it nicely, a different exe for the game.

Kataah, you're probably right, since Splt/Second Velocity was the European release, while what's on Steam is the American release, as far as I know.

gho, I hope that works. Really appreciate you going through the trouble!

Ach! I can't run the game demo because of a securom protection !?!
It is uncommon to find a protected free demo, but it's a fact: the game runs perfectly on my pc, but when attached to DxWnd it can't start and shows the error in the screenshot below.
In addition, the DxWnd log shows many calls to IsDebuggerPresent() that for sure belong to some anti-cheat protection.
Quite curiously, the logs from the steam full-licenced game version don't show such a copy protection, but it's possible there's something different and still interfering with DxWnd.
It is an unpleasant situation, because I would need an exact copy of your game, but I'm not going to buy it and chances to defeat an anti-cheat protection are so low that I don't feel like suggesting you to do the purchease.
Maybe you could send me a copy of the game executable alone: it's not illegal and (though impossible to be used to run the game) it could provide some useful information, perhaps...
Or maybe you could ask Kataah (through PM channel) a copy of its game executable. I think I understood it could be a less picky one... ;)

Please add .exe at the end of the file.

Kataah's exe crashed for me even without DxWnd...here's mine from Steam.

I wouldn't be surprised if it had some sort of anti-cheat protection as it did have online multiplayer.

If your goal is only to run game in borderless window there is software called "Borderless Gaming" available in Steam itself (but you can also legally download it for free). So far I didn't have any problems with any modern games running through it.

I do use that, and it works very well for nearly all my games, unfortunately, I can't find a way to run Split/Second in windowed mode, which I need in order for Borderless Gaming to work.

Literally years later and I find that DxWnd works with Split/Second for me, if in the Video tab you select "Native" under "Screen resolution." The same thing also fixes Lego Star Wars when it wasn't working with the default settings or even the export.

yeh, selecting "native" also fixed LEGO star wars III: The clone wars steam edition for me a little while back. "native" seems to fix most older LEGO style games, such as the star wars ones.

I'm sorry this "VGA" setting caused so much trouble. In effect, in latest few releases I noticed the problem and (I believe) fixed it. So, it would be interesting to know whether the latest DxWnd v2.05.06 can support these games also in VGA video resolutions or if there's still something to fix.
If you want to try, please do NOT delete any working configuration: you can take advantage of the possibility to install two different complete DxWnd releases in different folders and run one or the other without interferences.

There's no reason to apologize really. After some trial and error with other games I realized why those options exist, though in my opinion, "All" should be the default setting. I think SVGA is the default as of now, I'm not sure.
