Jurassic Park Dinosaur Battles black outline

I've fiddled with DxWnd for a bit, and I remember having Jurassic Park Dinosaur Battles working at 1920x1080 with no issues. Some time has passed and I found myself messing with it again, only this time no matter what I do, the resolution will not work for me.

Let me explain:
I've set the resolution to 1920x1080p, as well as the initial resolution and the Width & Height. Set it to fullscreen only and made sure to put it to 16bpp. Now I used somebody's guide in order to get it to function: https://www.reddit.com/r/JurassicPark/comments/6huuhl/jurassic_park_dinosaur_battles_pc_windows_8later/
It works perfectly. My issue is not having the game itself up to 1080p. I can adjust it by putting it on window, initial resolution on 640x480 with desktop work area enabled. That comes with another problem where in the begining of the game, I can only click on the top left corner of the screen. (while writing this, i discovered that only the starting menu has this issue, the rest of the game is fine. However, i'd still like a resolution to this issue if there is one.)

Does anyone have a solution to this issue? I'd be a shame if I could only play this game on such a tiny space.
