I can't create a ticket, so I am doing this. I have Windows 11 Pro, and I tried to run Hoyle Casino Empire on my laptop with the same settings as my friend who's running it on Windows 10, and I can't run it. I was wondering if there was a way you could help me get to where I can run this. I would really appreciate it.

I apologize, but I have to start with the most silly and obvious questions:
1) the game has a copy protection and works on Win10+ only with a cracked exe. Did you apply one? In case, the MyAbandonware site (search for "hoyle casino empire game" in the site search box) has one.
2) How did yo copy the configuration? In any case, did you update the game path to reflect your game location in the file system?
I tried the game right now on my Win11, Game installed from CD + cracked exe, last DxWnd release and configuration from the export file "Hoyle Casino Empire.dxw" (from the export folder in teh DxWnd distribution) and it works.
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
Does cracked exe refer to the ISO version? Like... my computer skills on a scale from 1-10 is like a 3 or 4... not that high, so I'm not that knowledgeable.
Also, I don't have a CD of the game. Another thing, I don't understand what "update the game path to reflect your game location in the file system" means.
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
Yes, sure. Some games had a CD protection that was supported until a certain release of Windows (like Widows XP for instance) and then this protection ceased to work in newer Window versions. So, having the original CD in many cases doesn't grant that you can still play the game. A cracked executable (more or less legal, this would be a long discussion) can be necessary.
I don't understand what "update the game path to reflect your game location in the file system" means.
DxWnd must be configured with the full path of the game executable. Depending on your choices and Windows release, this full pathname could be in different folders. So, when you copy a DxWnd configuration from a friend, a website or my export folder, it is very possible that the configuration points to a wrong path (that is, a good path for whoever created the configuration but not good for you). You simply have to locate the game executable (just remember the folder that you chose during the install procedure and search in there the file "CasinoEmpire.exe"). Then right-click on the game icon in DxWnd, select "Modify" and in the configuration Main tab you have to update the game path in the "Path" field.
Ok, so we're both at a standstill. So I went back to the very beginning... DxWnd is installed, and Casino Empire was uninstalled, the download files were removed, and the empty folder in the C drive "Encore" was deleted. I re-downloaded the 3 files from Abandonware, and un-zipped them all. Nothing has been installed from those 3 files. How do I go about getting the game to work from here? Again, I really do appreciate your help.

MyAbandonware has 3 files, but you won't need them all. You should chose between an install from CD or from setup. The second is probably simpler, so you can try this first.
Download the file marked with "Setup English version 481 MB", unzip it, there should be a setup.exe inside. Run the setup and install the game on a game folder, better avoid the deault "C:\Program files" because there are security restrictions on Win10+. My suggestion is "C:\Games" + a game folder, like "C:\Games\CasinoEmpire".
During the install you may see problems (I don't remember if I followed this procedure or installed something else ...), in case try again setting Windows XP or Windows 98 compatibility, try until you succeed.
Not I don't know if the setup holds a pre-cracked exe or not. Rename the game executable to have it just in case, then download the file labelled as "NOCD English version 464 KB" and unzip the file CasinoEmpire.exe in the game folder.
Finally, Run DxWnd, import the suggested export file, fix the game path in the "Path" field and the job should be done.
N.b. the export files have a conventional windowed mode in a 800x600 window at 50,50 coordinates (close to the upper-left corner). You can change these values according to your preferences, for instance setting a fake-fullscreen mode like "Desktop".

Hi all, I wanted to share my experience from this past weekend at Royal Reels Casino. I had a great time checking out the new pokies they just added. The graphics and themes on these machines are so fun and engaging. I ended up spending a few hours playing Queen of Hearts %%%%%%%%% and walked away with a nice profit. Definitely recommend giving their new games a try next time you're at the casino.

Running older games on newer operating systems can sometimes be challenging. To improve compatibility, try running Hoyle Casino Empire in compatibility mode. Right-click on the game's executable, go to Properties, navigate to the Compatibility tab, and select an earlier Windows version. Additionally, ensure your graphics drivers are up-to-date. If issues persist, consider using virtualization software or seeking community forums for specific troubleshooting tips. For a different kind of gaming experience, explore modern online casinos like Casinonic at %%%%%%%%%. They offer a variety of games accessible on contemporary systems, providing an alternative source of entertainment.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble running Hoyle Casino Empire on Windows 11! Sometimes older games can be finicky on newer operating systems. One thing you can try is running the game in compatibility mode for Windows 10 or an earlier version. Right-click the game’s .exe file, go to Properties > Compatibility, and select Windows 10 or another older version. You might also want to try running it as an administrator. If that doesn’t work, installing DirectX or specific drivers could help. Hope this gets you up and running!

It sounds frustrating not being able to run Hoyle Casino Empire on Windows 11. Compatibility can be tricky between different versions of Windows. You could try running the game in compatibility mode for Windows 10 or earlier versions, and also make sure all your drivers are up to date. If that doesn’t help, third-party tools like dgVoodoo can sometimes help older games run on modern systems. Hope you get it working soon!

The demo does launch though. The game launches but blackscreens the computer for a few seconds and then the creen comes back and casino empire is closed.

Both the profiles that I attach here are still working perfectly with latest DxWnd releases, you can try to import one of these (one is for fake-fullscreen mode, the other to run the game in a window).
But the game is protected and requires a no-CD crack to run since the copy protection is no longer supported by recent windows versions. Did you find and apply one?
Hey, I had to put DxWnd on another computer along with Casino Empire. At first, it was saving the game, but now every time I load Casino Empire, it only has Empire Mode with Buddy's Casino available (which is like a new game). Can you help me?

Until I get the game on a testbed again I can just try to guess some possible reason.
Lost savegames could be due to missing permissions on the file system. Here are some suggestions:
1) If you installed the game on a protected system folder (like "C:\Program Files (x86)") move the installation to a unprotected one, like "C:\Games".
2) Try setting the DxWnd "Acquire admin caps" flag, or set the CasinoEmpire.exe the administrator's capabilities
In any case, do not despair, I'll test the game and will try to give some tested recipes.

In my preliminary test everything worked. I saved a game and a savegame was created in the "Save" subfolder. The file is somehow encrypted, so it's hard to decode it, but after that I quit the game I was able to load it with no problems. Can you see some files in the Save folder? Maybe you should create a "Save" folder before running the game?
Hey iam new here and trying to play this game since years and after 2-3 Days i give up becasue there are not many ppl playing i dont rly find help. I used your profile Gho but doesnt work. My problem ist game starts and it comes to second video and then freezes there. Or i will get the screen i attached here. I tried all now iam clueless what else is missing :( maybe someone here can help. Iam using Win11 Pro.
There are a few questions to answer before trying a fix:
What game release are you using?
Did you apply a proper game crack?
Are you playing with the CD mounted or do you have a game RIP?
What version of DxWnd are you using?

I used the PCGames CD from 03/2004 - so original Game from CD.

I had CD in the drive.
Downloaded fresh today from their site so i guess the latest build. (DxWnd)

The game runs on Win11 perfectly. If anyone can't do it, please tell me, I want to understand why this fake-news is spread this way.
Bot. If you follow Nathan Nash profile, he has already messaged in another sourceforge discussion page, which is now an infested area with bots
That post was now deleted, and it wasn't me who did it!
